Norwegian Cruise Line's Chef Returns Home to Spread Mouthwatering Love

 

-Kenneth McDuffie makes his brand known in the city where it all began.....His Philadelphia.

 

PHILADELPHIA- Indeed, Philly has its Historical Landmarks, Theatres, Concerts, and most of all of all The Famous Cheese Steak. However, its missing something that's has always been here..Kenneth McDuffie. McDuffie, Philadelphia native, is an independent,motivated and a strong believer in God. With a big personality and an even larger heart, he has given his time, energy, love, and his passion for food and becoming an educator of the art of cooking as well.

 

Being raised by his Great Grandmother, the late Esther A. Smith, who taughthim everything that he needed to know about food McDuffie began catering, baby showers, church banquets, weddings, and later landed him a job with The Norwegian Cruise Line and moving to Hawaiiwhere Kenneth could share his passion for food at a greater bicoastal scale outside of his hometown of North Philadelphia.

 

Prior to moving to Hawaii, Kenneth had already started his own catering business in 2009 called “A Taste of Soul” which he revamped his brand and changed the name this year to “Young and Hungry.” Young and Hungry has started making even louder noise in the entertainment world when he was honored to cook for his first celebrity client hip hop artist, Juelz Santana, currently Senator Vincent Hughes, and his wife ,Actress Sheryl Lee Ralph.

 

McDuffie has involved himself in several media and political outlets as well. Becoming a weekly guest with his own his segment WCW ( WE'RE COOKING WEDNESDAY) on the Big Nate &Da Big Bang Morning Show on URU Radio, Moment with Purple Queen on PQ1Radio, and also became a sponsor for the Philadelphia Democratic National Convention BLK out Social Mixer. He was also a featured guest on WDAS as well as cookedhis wellknown Fish Tacosfor the Philly’s legendary radio DJ and philanthropist Ms. Patty Jackson. This past summer, Kenneth also became the 2016 Bell Award recipient at The Philadelphia Black Expo.

–Kenneth J. McDuffie Currently working towards opening his own restaurant, Kenneth is ready to make his big dream into a larger reality. Goals to give back to his community, educating up and coming chefs, giving different cooking techniques, and advising the young chefs on thriving in their positions whether it is cooking or not. With a mission to encourage the youth to stay humble and faithful, He also embed in their minds to grab a bite of great opportunities offered in this world to them until they're full and make sure to pay their blessings forward onto others.
